Students should be able to: • Interpret the role of animal agriculture in feeding mankind. • Define terms common to the animal industries discussed in class. • List examples of interrelationships between animal agriculture and other segments of our society. • Discuss how practices and products of animal agriculture affect student’s quality of life. • Identify the basic concepts of genetics, nutrition, physiology, marketing, and management as they relate to the animal agriculture. • Differentiate among the various segments of animal agriculture. • Discuss the most common management systems for the species of animals and poultry found in American agriculture. • Name the most common breeds within each specie.
