Swine Teaching Program

The Swine teaching program offers undergraduate and graduate students an array of opportunities. Courses offered of relevance to swine production include our fundamental genetics, nutrition, meats, and physiology courses. At the senior level, students interested in swine have the option of taking a swine science course. In addition, numerous electives of interest to swine students (such as monogastric nutrition, swine nutrition, etc.) are available as options. Swine research facilities are located in close proximity to campus which facilitates student exposure. In addition to formal courses, there are a number of informal activities (such as Little American Royal and the Livestock Judging Team ) that enable swine students to interact with others of similar interest.
